According to The New York Post’s Jon Heyman on Thursday, Stanton’s injury woes go further than just his elbows. Giancarlo Stanton is said to be dealing with a chronic calf issue as well as the elbow injuries, but the arm pain is the bigger problem.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone confirmed that Giancarlo Stanton is dealing with a calf injury in addition to his elbow issues.

With no clear return date, the Yankees must prepare for Opening Day without Stanton in the lineup. That leaves them with a few internal options for designated hitter, including Ben Rice, J.C. Escarra, and non-roster invitee Dominic Smith.
