A team of over 200 local, state and federal law enforcement officers and agents is working around the clock to capture the remaining missing inmates who broke out of a New Orleans jail.
For years, Interstate-20 has been a well-known corridor for drug and human trafficking. Now, it may also be the path for several escaped inmates who broke out of the Orleans Justice Center last Friday,
Since the 10 inmates escaped on May 16, five have been recaptured and three people have been charged with helping them.
Louisiana State Police, who have yet to find half of the Orleans Parish Prison escapees, announced the arrest of two women on Thursday – one who allegedly gave food to an escapee and another who was suspected to have been “in contact via phone” with one of the former prisoners.
Cortnie Harris, 32, and Corvanntay Baptiste, 38, join prison worker Sterling Williams, 33, in being charged over the shocking escape plot.
