João Pedro has chosen Chelsea over Newcastle United and will sign for the club for around £50 million in time to play in the Club World Cup quarter-finals this week.

Chelsea have won the race to sign Brighton striker Joao Pedro, agreeing a deal worth ‘in excess of £50m,’ according to reports. Newcastle were also interested in the Brazil international during this transfer window, but the Blues have got their man.

Joao Pedro would reportedly prefer to join Chelsea over Newcastle if the Blues can thrash out a deal to prise him away from Brighton. The west London giants are on the hunt for fresh talent as they prepare for their return to the Champions League next season.
