Jharkhand Assembly Election: Phase 1 Kicks Off The first phase of the 2024 Jharkhand assembly election has begun today with voting in 43 constituencies across 15 districts.

Voting for 43 assembly seats in Jharkhand commenced on Wednesday with a total of 683 candidates trying their luck, including former CM Champai Soren and ex-MP Geeta Kora.

Voting for the first phase has begun in 43 out of 81 seats in Jharkhand. Bypolls are underway in Kerala, Rajasthan, Gujarat and West Bengal.

The initial phase of the Jharkhand assembly polls commenced early Wednesday morning, with 43 of the 81 constituencies opening their booths for voters across 15 districts.

The polling for Jharkhand's first phase began at around 7:00 am, with voters across 43 constituencies in 15 districts casting their ballots. The results will determine the fate of 683 candidates, including 73 women.

As far as key seats are concerned- former CM Champai Soren, contesting on the BJP ticket in Seraikela, faces a challenge from JMM’s Ganesh Mahli. BJP’s Geeta Koda, wife of former Chief Minister Madhu Koda locked horns with Congress’ Sona Ram Sinku in Jagannathpur.

The first phase of voting for the Jharkhand Assembly elections has started today, covering 43 constituencies. There are 15,344 polling booths across the state, and 683 candidates are competing, including former Chief Minister Champai Soren and six cabinet ministers from Hemant Soren’s government.
