The road into the community of Hunt, along the Guadalupe River, told a story of how quickly lives were changed there. SAN ANTONIO — Five days after the waters of the Guadalupe River rose and overwhelmed much of Kerr Country on July Fourth, search and recovery efforts continue as the community picks up the pieces of one of the state's worst natural disasters in years.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and House Speaker Dustin Burrows took an aerial tour surveying the flooding damage in Kerr County.

Texas officials are being questioned about warning systems ahead of the deadly floods. As NBC News' Priscilla Thompson reports, Kerr County doesn't have a county-wide siren warning system in place.
