The Federal Trade Commission has reopened a previously closed application process for those who want to claim a refund from a $245 million settlement Fortnite developer Epic Games made with the federal agency in 2022.

Eligible Fortnite players who felt bamboozled into making unwanted purchases have been given a second chance to request a refund. The Federal Trade Commission has reopened applications to receive refunds from the $245 million settlement that Epic Games reached with the agency until July 9th, after previously closing requests in February.

The new deadline for submitting claims is July 9, 2025. The refunds stem from a settlement with Epic Games, the creator of Fortnite, which agreed to pay $245 million to settle FTC claims that it employed deceptive tactics to lure players into making unwanted purchases.
