And by doing that, the Bavarians look like they are going to get their man — even if the Germany international was very impressed by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola:

Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz has reportedly informed head coach Xabi Alonso of which club he wants to join this summer. Wirtz, 22, has been pivotal to Leverkusen’s success over the past two seasons, having registered 18 goals and 20 assists in the 2023/24 double-winning campaign, which saw Alonso ’s side go unbeaten in the Bundesliga.
