Sean Dyche has called on his attacking stars to play their role in helping to prevent leads from slipping away from his Everton side. Stephy Mavididi’s second half equaliser prevented the Blues from a vital win over Leicester City and marked the fourth consecutive match in which Everton had failed to turn a lead into a win.

"Unfortunately, you come away from a game where you probably should win, with just a point. Normally you would be pleased with a point but, at the moment, we would've loved that win." On the confidence shown by his team: "It is just noise you know? The players are human beings so naturally it does effect you, but the point is that it is just noise.

Everton director of football Kevin Thelwell has lept to the defence of manager Sean Dyche, saying the Toffees boss “is working under very difficult circumstances” after the club’s worst start to a league season since 1958.

After four matches, Everton are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and yet to pick up a point. The Toffees' have been beaten in their last two league fixtures, despite having two-goal leads in both, and take on Leicester City on Saturday (15:00 BST).
