Action from the Africa Cup of Nations continues as Egypt became the first side to qualify for the knockout stages after beating South Africa in a controversial heavyweight Group B showdown. Both sides started their AFCON campaigns with 2-1 victories as but only one 100 percent winning record remains thanks to Mohamed Salah’s penalty.

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has fined Egypt $5,000 after the players and technical staff failed to  engage the media following their clash

Midfielder Bathusi Aubaas, who came on late for Sipho Mbule in the 80th minute against Angola, and striker Evidence Makgopa, who remained on the bench, said in the build-up they will take any chance they get against Egypt with both hands.
