Dangerous wind chills and more snow are making Thursday and Friday First Alert Weather Days, according to the FOX19 NOW Weather Team. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for the Tri-State until 9 a.m.

Several counties in the Miami Valley have been issued a Cold Weather Advisory for Thursday morning. The National Weather Service shows the following counties will be under the advisory from midnight to 9 a.

A winter storm watch is active in southern Kentucky until late Friday night as much of the commonwealth is expected to receive more snow Friday.

Winter storm warnings have been issued for all of north Alabama, including Huntsville, and the northern part of central Alabama, including Birmingham.

The winter weather advisory takes effect at 6 a.m. Thursday. Forecasters say 2-4 inches of snow could fall, with some sleet mixed in at the outset of the storm.

Significant winter weather is expected on Friday as a winter storm tracks through the area. Accumulating snow is looking likely for most of north Alabama with some ice mixing in for areas south of Tennessee River.
