Thailand is imposing new border restrictions including blocking tourists from entering Cambodia as the two countries engage in retaliation in their border dispute.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said Monday that Cambodia will not enter talks with Thailand on reopening their shared border unless Thailand reopens all crossing points first, the Khmer Times reported. Manet accused Thailand of unilaterally closing the border gates and said any reopening must be led by Bangkok.

Thailand and Cambodia shut several border crossings in tit-for-tat moves, ratcheting up tensions between the two Southeast Asian neighbors as Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra fights to save her government from a political crisis triggered by a leaked phone call over the weekslong standoff.
