Leonardo da Vinci’s birthday on April 15 was chosen as the date for the annual event, and the first World Art Day was held in 2012. The origins of the IAA go back to 1948 with concerns over artists’ freedom and safety in various countries.
By 2012, though, she was ready for a change of pace. “I started working independently on my own in my dining room doing artist marketing and management.” Tom Garner and Clara Berta, both Downtown artists, are among the first she represented and remain working with her today.
A compilation of their combined works can be seen in their video “ Flashback to Now ” (2014) based on their exhibition at Edgar Varela Fine Art in 2012. “As a kid, I always liked music and art,” says Eloy.
